The calendar flipped to June this week, and the weather is warming up and things are really greening up.
Our Wednesday drop off to the church was five dozen eggs....which brought us to an even 50 dozen eggs donated for the year to date. Not too bad for year zero, with just our small laying flock.
Pickup at the food pantry was cases of moldy bread and bags of spoiled fruit. This was pretty good food for the chickens and for the pile, although I have to say that bags of over-ripe fruit are both heavy AND a bit of a sticky mess.
Still, the hard work and messiness, it's all worth it to be doing some good.
